GTAL 2010 news from 3 Hours of Kyoto Ring GP Long (Round 2)
Starting in 4th, after half a lap we were at the poll position we got a bit of a lead but later on there was a massive crash after which the race was stopped. After about 10minutes the race was restarted. Then we started from the 3rd position (1position higher than before), because a couple of drivers got penalties for the incident. So the race was restarted and just after the start in the first straight there were three cars going three wide and in between them were us. Just before the first turn, there was a very complicated situation and there was a crash after which we fell down to the last position. Because driver I. Tadarovic didn’t leave enough room for us to drive further we didn’t have any choice and had to drive on the grass and straight into a wall. Then we started to catch up other cars. 10minutes later we were already in the 13th position. Later we had problems with our tyre temperatures, we couldn’t get the tyres to warm up enough for us to drive our car in full pace, and the high winds made us make a couple more mistakes. 14minutes until the end of the race there was an incident which led to the safety car coming out to the track. The rest of the race we drove behind the safety car, we thought that the green flag would still be shown to all of us and there would be a couple laps still to race, but everyone finished after the safety car safely in there positions. This round made us face a lot of complicated situations from which we have gained some league experience. Also the high winds made the race more interesting, because we weren't ready at all for the wind, which also caused our tyres to cool down too much. According to the official results we finished in the 8th position and after two rounds we have 78 points and are 6th in the team standings. I think during the race could be removed unnecessary items, tires, and everything else.
